The Ngezandla Zethu Sewing Project in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa was established in 2018 and exists to equip every member of the community irrespective of age, gender and race with skills that will empower each one spiritually, physically, emotionally and mentally. This project provides care and guidance to vulnerable children, young people, adults and the aged.
This project offers:
Skill training courses for those who are unemployed including:
- Designing and sewing
- Cooking and baking
- Plumbing and welding
- Electricity and carpentry
- Computer literacy
Educational programs including:
- Pre-school and Creche
- After school help
- Extra tuition classes
- Adult education and empowerment programs
- Disabled children stimulation and education programs
Youth development and empowerment programs including:
- Sports and recreational activities
- Spiritual and emotional upliftment
- Moral regeneration issues
- Peer groups empowerment clubs
HIV and AIDS support based centre programs
